Tell me more

Please reach us at michael@reunionalliston.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We are a small, Jesus-centred community rooted in the Anabaptist tradition. (Anabaptists come from the same historical link as Mennonites, emphasizing humility, simplicity, generosity, enemy-love, care for the marginalized, and living the way of Jesus in daily life.)

Whether thirty of us gather or just three, we trust that God meets us in every moment. We value real relationships over performance, and a faith that shapes our daily living. Our hope is to be a place of healing, hospitality, and honest seeking — where everyone can find belonging and space to grow.

We believe Jesus is the centre of our faith, life, and practice. His life, death, and resurrection show us how to live — calling us to love our enemies, live simply, care for creation, and welcome everyone with open arms.

We hold Scripture as inspired by God and crafted by our spiritual ancestors to encourage, challenge, and guide us toward lives of love and justice. We recognize there are many ways Scripture has been interpreted over time, and we read it through the lens of Jesus’ life and love.

For us, faith is less about rigid doctrines and more about a living relationship with God and others — a journey of love, humility, and hope.

Our doors open at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings at the Krasman Centre.
We share coffee, tea, and conversation until about 10:15, when we move into our liturgy. Our gatherings are simple, welcoming, and designed for all ages.

We include interactive elements like read-and-response prayers, singing, a short homily, prayers of the people, the Eucharist, and group discussion around the scripture or topic for the day.
By 11:00 a.m., we transition to sharing a meal together — a time for connection, laughter, and deeper conversations.

Children are a vital part of our community.
We offer a simple kids' program during our gathering, designed to help children experience God's love through stories, activities, and caring relationships.

All volunteers are trained and have completed Vulnerable Sector Checks to ensure a safe and nurturing environment. We love the energy and joy children bring to our gatherings and we work to make sure every age feels seen, included, and valued.

Many people, at one time or another, have wondered, "Is the church a safe place for me?"
For those carrying mental health challenges, questions about faith, a sexual orientation that wasn’t affirmed elsewhere, or a past they wish were different — we want you to know that we are trying really hard to be that safe place.

We know we won’t always get it perfectly right, but we are committed to listening, learning, apologizing when needed, and growing toward the kind of community Jesus invites us to be — a community of love, justice, and belonging for all.

Reunion encourages me to let go, see things differently, open up and be human.
